What this is

Woutem is a small library of models for 3D printing. We are not chasing volume: what is in the catalogue is what somebody actually printed and put to use, published with the settings that worked.

The project started in 2021 as a folder of STL files a few people passed around. It is now an open catalogue: models are free to download, and each author sets the terms for their own work.

How it differs from the big catalogues

• Every model ships as both STL and OBJ, with no sign-up and no queue.
• Print settings are the ones the model was made with, not generic recommendations.
• Mechanical parts are calculated, not sketched: the gears here carry a real involute.
• Nothing is quietly deleted: when a model is updated the previous version stays available on request.

Who runs it

Six authors maintain the catalogue. New accounts are invite only at the moment, which keeps the bar where we want it. If you have something to show, write to hello@woutem.ru and attach a couple of photographs of the print.

Technically

The site is static: no trackers, no analytics, no third-party scripts. The model viewer runs in your browser on WebGL and reads the same STL file you download, so what you see is the contents of the file.
